The Boardwalk Tour eco-visit is a unique experience. Participants walk on a floating boardwalk through the middle of a magnificent mangrove forest. A particular highlight is entering the floating birdwatching hide and enjoying a view over Inner Deep Bay; when the tides are favourable, you will be right beside shorebirds and the thriving mudflat ecology.

Registered participants are requested to arrive at the registration area 10 minutes before their tour time. Late arrivals will not be accommodated. Non-registered Walk for Nature participants may come to the registration area and join a wait list. If the tour is not full, wait-listed people will be allocated a space on the tour.

Paddy Field Tour

(Suitable for ages 6 and above. Participants are required to apply and register online in advance for the event and pay a fee of HK$150 per person.)

In the early 20th century, brackish red rice farming was the major agriculture practice around Deep Bay. However, gei wai shrimp farms and freshwater fish farms began to replace the paddies gradually, and today rice is seldom grown in the area. In recent years though, the practice of rice cultivation has undergone a resurgence and we have started a rice cultivation trial in Pond #16a. You are invited to join the first ever Paddy Field Tour. Wear waterproof workwear and experience the tranquillity of the Reserve's traditional paddy fields. Our professional eco-guide will also walk you through sustainable farming practice and the vital role the field plays in supporting the wetland ecosystem.

Registered participants are requested to arrive at the registration area 10 minutes before their tour time. Late arrivals will not be accommodated. Non-registered participants may come to the registration area and join a waitlist. If the tour is not full, waitlisted applicants will be allocated a space on the tour. Each session will last approximately 60 minutes.
