Dr Timothy Bonebrake is an Associate Professor in the School of Biological Sciences and Division of Ecology & Biodiversity at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). He heads the Global Change and Tropical Conservation lab, which specialises in research on tropical climate change impacts, wildlife trade, urban ecology and endangered species management.
Dr. Bonebrake has a Bachelor of Science in environmental sciences from the University of California, Berkeley and a PhD in biology from Stanford University. He joined the HKU faculty in 2012 and runs active research programmes throughout the Asian and African tropics. Butterflies and insects are a primary focus, but conservation activities and research in Dr. Bonebrake’s lab cover a wide range of taxa including plants, birds, reptiles, and mammals.
