As a conservation advocate, we are dedicated to finding solutions that help balancing nature conservation with human needs in urban development. In 2024, we collaborated with the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects (HKILA) for the first time to propose five enhancement recommendations for the San Tin Technopole, aimed at promoting sustainable development. These proposals include preserving wetlands, developing ecological corridors, and utilising Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to enhance flood resilience, all designed to minimise the negative impacts of development on ecosystems while increasing the area's climate resilience and improving residents' quality of life. Through green urban planning, not only can our nature be protected, but a liveable environment can also be created for citizens, fostering harmony between people and nature.
